7 ways to get more reviews in your Hypnobirthing business

Uncategorized Feb 05, 2024

Reviews and testimonials are hugely valuable to Hypnobirthing businesses. Potential clients subconsciously look for that social proof that others have made the decision that they are about to make and been happy with it. Positive reviews and testimonials enhance your reputation and build credibility.

So, how can you get more of these even if you haven’t taught tonnes of clients?

1 Ask your friends to share their experiences of Hypnobirthing

In your early days of teaching Hypnobirthing, right before you’ve even taught clients of your own, consider asking people that you know for any positive statements about hypnobirthing that you can use in your marketing. Your friend, Sophie saying “Hypnobirthing made such a difference to my birth. I went from…” is a fantastic quote to share even if you didn’t personally teach Sophie. She’s raving about Hypnobirthing and you are offering Hypnobirthing.

2 Use those messages

Once you have taught a client or two, you are likely to get informal bits of feedback. For example, a client may text you the day after a session saying something like “I loved last night and just to let you know, even sceptical Joe is now fully into this. He says it all made perfect sense”.

With permission take a screen shot and share these messages on social media or even a website. The benefit of a screenshot is that it adds to the authenticity of it. These are highly valuable testimonials, without them being formal reviews. Don’t wait for formal reviews, use what you have so far firstly.

3 Ask!

I know it’s obvious, but believe me so many of us don’t ask enough. Get into the habit of asking each and every client to write a review. Share the direct link to wherever you’d like them to write it e.g. Facebook or google to make it super simple for them.

If they don’t do one, ask again. Life is busy right? We all need that extra nudge.

Ask elsewhere too. Use Instagram? Every so often use the question box on your stories and say “Tell me what you thought of your Hypnobirthing course”

4 Consider video reviews

Video reviews are amazing assets for your marketing. You can shorten them to pick out the key parts and even transcribe certain parts for if you want to use a written testimonial as well.

Tell your clients how much this means to you and invite them to send a 2 minute video to you via WhatsApp or consider getting these by using software designed for this such as VideoAsk.

Alternatively invite former clients to a video chat on Instagram about their positive birth experience and use snippets as reviews too.

5 Incentivise feedback

Set up a simple feedback survey (also great for helping you enhance your courses too) on something like google forms or Survey monkey. Ask no more than 6 questions and at the bottom seek permission to be able to publish responses in your marketing. Give them the option of whether this is named or anonymous.

To get more responses, incentivise completion of the survey. You could enter all into a prize draw to win an Amazon Voucher or a prize you know your clients would value. Or perhaps give everyone who completes the survey a freebie e.g. an extra relaxation track for motherhood.

Remember you a giving the freebie regardless of the type of feedback that they give, rewarding their time not their views of your course, keeping this ethical.

6 Organise a client catch up event

Not only will this be fantastic to build community in your hypnobirthing business but this will give you opportunity to meet up with clients beyond the course. At this event actually ask them to write a few sentences about what they thought or your course or better still ask if they’d be ok with you filming them talking about it on your phone.

No doubt they will chat informally about the power of hypnobirthing too. If they say something that you think would be amazing for others to hear simply say “would you mind if I quoted that on my website/ social media, I’d love people to hear that about hypnobirthing’

7 Exceed their expectations

The happier your Hypnobirthing clients are, the more likely they are to share positive feedback, both to you and to others. So, really think about the level of service you offer your clients.

Think about the experience of doing a course with you. Make it memorable, get across the information in an engaging way and keep clients at the heart of everything that you do.
