Kirsten tells her story

Kirsten trained with us to become a Hypnobirthing teacher with the ambition of making sure women like herself had the opportunity to feel in control and have a beautiful birth.

Tell us a bit about you, your background and why you trained to become a Hypnobirthing Teacher

I felt really passionate about supporting women through this journey and showing them how calm and genuinely easier it can be to enjoy birth with the power of hypnobirthing. I felt really robbed of natural fertility, as a IVF mum (IVF warrior) I just wanted women like myself to have the opportunity to feel in control, and really have that beautiful birth after what can be a very challenging time leading up to pregnancy.

What have you done so far to build your business? How do you balance this with your life?

I’m really proud of my website (www.bumpsandbeginnings.com), and Instagram. Although sometimes it feels like I’m preaching to no one! Tumbleweed! I will continue to show up. I’ve done tasters, business cards and leaflets etc. I’m going to be leading some training for a local charity to support pregnancy after loss and how the power of hypnobirthing can support these very anxious women.

Since starting what have been your biggest achievements in your Hypnobirthing business?

Having a client who was a caesarean birth and reading her feedback. It just made me melt! This was totally out of my comfort zone as I have no knowledge of this type of birth prior to my training.

Also just the little things… the lady in pregnancy relaxation said baby was kicking as I was talking through the fear release script. I felt like even they were enjoying it too! (Cheesy isn’t it!)

What is your top tip for anyone else thinking about becoming a Hypnobirthing teacher?

Mentally, learn that it’s going to take time (perhaps more Than you thought) to sign clients. It feels like I’m talking to nobody right now, but I know consistently showing up will pay off. I’m channeling my inner Joe wicks who stood at train station and no one came to his bootcamps.,. Look at him now?!

What's next for your business?

More clients, especially supporting those who have had IVf. I’ve just created a Facebook support group. (Thank you Abby!)

I would to create a positive birth story podcast, & talk create a network of other similar businesses (to collaborate) and support pregnant women.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us Kirsten, keep going, you are doing great.
